Re: When are we going to take a stand?

the Bible doesn't judge people, God does when we meet our maker

question though, what if you're not Christian? the only argument i've seen against homosexuality is that it is against the Bible, so what if you're not Christian? what if you don't share the same God that you or I do? believe it or not we have people of all kinds of different religions who came to America to be able to worship AS THEY CHOOSE

so it boils down to your argument being, "someone should not be allowed to be gay because it infringes upon MY Christian principles"...and that's not what America was founded upon

[ QUOTE ]
In the world today we have all kinds wrecklessness.... some think it is okay to be gay... we actually have a homosexual church that has been built in Norton. I do not hate homosexuals but they are just believing a lie.... i think it is pretty adnormal for a man to have sexual feelings for another man. What is normal about that?

[/ QUOTE ]

It is not a homosexual church, I actually have family members who go to "this" church so don't start. If you know this individual so well how do you know they are a homosexual or not, I know exactly who you are referring to but do you have proof? There has been speculation for years but do you honestly know the truth?

The Pilgrims came over from England not just for freedom of religion, but freedom of religion, this is America, so Hokie_Bird, you need to make another argument as to why homosexuality is wrong, other than the Bible, God or any other religious point. Religious reasons mean nothing if one is not of the same religious belief.

Yes this is a free country.... I believe in freedom of choice also....YOu say we are not judged by the Bible but by God right? Well let me inform you that God spoke everything in the Bible ... it is his commandments his words and not only has he spoken them (past tense) but he is still speaking them... so yes we will be judged by the Bible... what will he judge us by then? His word is the way to live by so threfor we will be judged by them. And if you dont believe in God what do you do then? Well you will not have to worry about it because without him everyone would perish... so if you do not know him is a bigger problem that homosexuality... at least if you knew him you would have an oppurtunity to repent and turn from your wicked ways. We do have the right to do what we please but God says choose this day whom you will serve. Do what you want but later we will answer fotr it.

and the same people who believe in Hinduism or Buddhism would say that you won't go to "heaven" b/c you don't believe the way they do...it's all relative to what you believe

so thus, religion should be left out of politics, particularly in countries founded upon religious freedom...this is a republic, not a theocracy

the Bible was written by mortals, it is a good standard for Christian faith...but be careful when you talk about it being straight from the mouth of God

It scares me when you and I agree on things. It makes me feel dirty.

Re: When are we going to take a stand?

and a lot of the bible was lost in translation. King James made the bible into english terms for the better of man, to have something to live for.
It's full of metaphors, and like I said, it was translated into english language by a man. A man that translated it to the way he sought fit. Who knows what really is in the bible, has been left out, etc..
